The Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MoIC) of the Government of Lao PDR has received financing from the World Bank and Australia toward the cost of the Lao PDR Competitiveness and Trade Project (LCTP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

The NIU is now seeking an experienced individual for Administrative Assistant position to support the Lao Business Forum Secretariat. The services of the Administrative Assistant are required for a period of up to 08 months starting May 2024 on a full-time basis working at Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI). The Contract extension shall be subject to availability of funds and annual performance evaluation. The Administrative Assistant will be based at Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In order to qualify for these positions, the candidates shall meet the following experience and competence requirements below:

  • University degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics or other related discipline.
  • Minimum two years of relevant working experience;
  • Past experience in Government organizations is an advantage;
  • Past experience in the capacity of an Admin Assistant or Program Assistant in a similar setting or a donor funded project is an asset;
  • Fluency in English and Lao;
  • Excellent computer skills, especially with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
  • High motivation, good attitude, flexibility and reliability;
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good administrative, communication, interpersonal and team building skills;
  • Ability to maintain self-control and complete tasks with frequent interruptions.

The Consultant will be selected in accordance with the World Bank 'Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers, July 2016, revised November 2017 and August 2018 edition, under Individual Consultants (IC) selection method. The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 3.14, 3.16 and 3.17 of the said Regulations, setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
