Vacancy for Senior National Policy Consultant to Prepare Policy Brief on “Trade Policy, Trade Performance and Mainstreaming Green Dimension in Trade Policy”
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC) of the Government of Lao PDR has received financing from the EIF Interim Facility, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services. Through the support of the EIF Interim Facility, the National Implementation Unit (NIU), MOIC is seeking to recruit a Senior National Policy Consultant to Prepare Policy Brief on “Trade Policy, Trade Performance and Mainstreaming Green Dimension in Trade Policy”.
The NIU is seeking an experienced national consultant to fill the position of Senior National Policy Consultant to Prepare Policy Brief on “Trade Policy, Trade Performance and Mainstreaming Green Dimension in Trade Policy”. The assignment is expected to take approximately 20 days over 03 months to complete, and the selected expert will be expected to start as soon as possible. Most of the time input shall be spent in Vientiane at the Permanent Secretary Office under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce; most tasks are to be done in Vientiane capital, Lao PDR. In order to qualify for this position, the candidates shall meet the following experience and competence requirements:
- At least master’s degree in economics, public administration, or a related discipline;
- Minimum 7 years of working experience on Trade and Private Sector Development Policy areas;
- At least three similar assignments successfully implemented in the past 5 years for least developed countries’ governments;
- Strong knowledge of trade facilitation and logistics in Laos;
- Prior experience working on trade facilitation and logistics is an asset;
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
